Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content). This is a feature of some images used in our website software, the practice will look to change the software by September 2021.
Link Description: Not all external link descriptions specify the link destination. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.4 (Link Purpose in Context).
Inline Styling : Some content contains inline styling. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships).
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
Audio Captions: YouTube fails to show audio descriptions as default. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.2.5 (Audio Description). The information is from third party software and added via an iframe on to our site. There is a setting option to turn on audio description via the video.
How we tested this website
This website was last tested on 14th September 2020. The test was carried out Robin Lane Health and Wellbeing Centre. We tested the site using the Chrome extension application WAVE, which checks the website against accessibility criteria. The website also went under manual testing and some limited testing using the ChromeVox screen reading plugin.

Post Testing Changes
Following the testing we made a significant number of changes, including:
- Updating colours used to improve contrast
- Adding missing image tags to aid screen readers
- Redesigning some page elements to aid navigation
- Changing the site menus to remove redundant links
It is important to the practice that our website is accessibile to as many of our patients as possible. Patients can be assured that future development of our website will include accessibility as a foundational principle.

We provide a text relay service for people who are D/deaf, hearing impaired or have a speech impediment.
Our offices have audio induction loops, or if you contact us before your visit we can arrange a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter.
